The objects of this organization shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational; to assist the Posts and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, and its own members whenever possible; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America and fidelity to its Constitution and Laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom and equal rights and justice to all men and women; and to preserve and defend the United States of America from all her enemies whomsoever.

THEIR LITTLE RED HAT, THEY PROUDLY WON, IN AN OUTFIT, THAT’S BASED ON FUN. A DEDICATION TO WHICH THEY WILL EVER STICK, TO VISIT THEIR BUDDIES, THE DISABLED AND THE SICK. THE COOTIES PRACTICE THEIR MOTTO, WITH ALL THEIR MIGHT, TO ALWAYS "KEEP ’EM SMILIN IN BEDS OF WHITE”. NOW YOU KNOW AND CAN CLEARLY SEE, JUST WHY A COOTIE HAS RECEIVED, "THE HONOR DEGREE”

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

Dedicated to the memory of the men who fought and died in France during World War I, the Poppies of which he wrote have become the true symbol of all those who have given their lives in our nation's wars.

Veterans Day History

Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938.

Past State Commander Glenn Wright's service with be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11am.. Parking for  Glenn Wright's Celebration of Life will be at Sacred Heart Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. There will be a van making continuous trips from the VFW Post to Sacred Heart Church and back to shuttle passengers. Even if you are not planning on attending the service, please take advantage of this service on the 25th of October as we are trying to keep parking at the post available for Mrs. Wright's family and guest out of the area.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.
