Ronald "Ron" Evans

Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States  

Ron is a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1988 to 1993. During the Gulf War, he deployed during Operation Desert Storm aboard USS Underwood (FFG-36) as a Radioman Second Class (RM2).

A dedicated member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars since 2008, Ron is a Gold Legacy Life Member of Post 3233 in Sarasota. His deep-rooted commitment to the organization is reflected in his extensive leadership history, having served with distinction as the Commander of Post 3233, Commander of District 10, and as the Adjutant/Quartermaster for District 10. As Department Surgeon, Ron is focused on championing the health, wellness, and institutional support of Florida’s veterans and their families.

Beyond his military and VFW service, Ron has spent the last 27 years serving his local community as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Sarasota County Fire Department. Beginning his career there in January 1999, he currently holds the rank of Captain, serving as the shift incident safety officer, role that perfectly bridges his tactical experience and passion for life-saving care.

At the heart of Ron’s dedication is his family. He is married to his wife, Holly, who shares his passion for the VFW mission and serves as the VFW District 10 Auxiliary President. Together, they share a beautifully blended family of two children, three stepchildren, and two beloved grandchildren.
