Rich was elected as State Chaplain at the VFW Department of Florida State Convention in Orlando, Florida on June, 2024. He served as District 13 Commander for three years, VFW Post 10127 Commander for two years, Post Chaplain in 2019, and District Chaplain in 2022.
Richard "Rich" Monroe joined the VFW in 2010 as a Life Member.
He received National Aid-de-Camp 2015-2019 and 2023-2024.
Rich served in the Air Force and Air National Guard for over 23 years, retiring as Chief of Communication Maintenance. His decorations received include Air Force Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit award, Meritorious service medal numerous times and Vietnam Service and Campaign medal.
Richard was ordained a Roman Catholic Deacon - retired. He served as Deputy Chief Fire Chaplain for Commonwealth of Massachusetts and served in NYC at ground zero.
Richard and Pam have been married for 16 years with a combined family of 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
