Ken was elected to represent Florida on the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Council of Administration at the VFW Department of Florida State Convention on June of 2022. He will be serving a four year term.  

Ken was the State Commander, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Florida in June for the 2017-2018 year.  

Ken joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harney Point Post 8463 in Cape Coral, FL where he worked through the chairs and became Commander in 2008. Ken then transferred to the George D. Theisen Memorial Post 10097, Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Ken also went through the District chairs and was elected to State Surgeon in 2014. Ken joined the Florida Army National Guard in 1996, served in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2004 serving as a Combat Medic at the NCOIC of Bn Aid Station, conducted Patrols and support activities. Medals earned were CMB, ARCOM, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Gobal War on Terrorism Medal, Reserve Component Medal with "M” Device, Iraq Campaign Medal with 2 Stars and numerous N.G Ribbons.

 

Ken worked for the NYPD as an officer and then once in Florida worked for the Sheriff’s Office in 1995. Ken worked for the Lee Memorial System as an Emergency Department Technician and the VA as a Medical Tech.Ken was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Beach Channel High School in Rockaway, NY and from Edison State College.

 

Ken is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Ken and his wife Janice still reside in Ft. Myers, Florida and they have 7 daughters between them; Maggie, Katie, Ellie, Sam, Marilyn, Sarah and Jen.
